Most Americans assume that Orthodox Jews vote Republican.
But Twitter user @raynelunger posted on the platform last night asking Orthodox Jews to share “why your Jewish values align with your vote” for former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris.
Hearing from lots of orthodox Jews who feel unsafe sharing that they support Biden.
So if you’re an orthodox Jew voting Biden, let’s make #YidenforBiden a thing + share why your Jewish values align with your vote.
The rest of #Jwitter, do your thing and lift up their voices.

Here are some of their responses:
I’m a #YidenforBiden because he embodies the values of chesed, tzedek, and and ahavat chinam. I absolutely refuse to raise my kids in a world that doesn’t promote these values; we teach them in our home, schools, and they must be modeled in our leaders. https://t.co/LcUQUKgL39

#YidenforBiden is trending on my timeline and I’m Kvelling. Trumpism is the antithesis to every value we hold dear. Hopefully this four-year nightmare ends soon and we start a period of healing in a calmer and kinder America under President @JoeBiden

Voted for Biden because my whole life I was taught in yeshiva
וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעַךָ כָּמוֹךָ זֶה כְּלָל גָדוֹל בַּתּוֹרָהAnd only one candidate embodies this #YidenforBiden https://t.co/kLpVckOq3t

I’m an orthodox Jew, so I’ll give #YidenforBiden a go.
The Torah commands us to care for widows and orphans. The Talmud says if you save one life, you save the world.
So if 1 of 2 candidates would cost fewer lives, hurt fewer widows and orphans, I am obligated to vote for him. https://t.co/v4UhcXlOa0

#YidenforBiden because I can’t stand cruelty, selfishness, and corruption. Because I want a leader who will protect the planet we were given. Because I want a leader who doesn’t accept support from people who hate me. Because I want to stop hurting when we pray for our leader. https://t.co/NrB70Gt2Yc

I’m ultra-Orthodox and I’m voting joining #YidenforBiden . This means:
? the ACA doesn’t get torn down (which, while imperfect, gave 28,000,000 Americans healthcare and ensures preexisting conditions won’t toss you off a plan)
?science is understood and respected as per https://t.co/oVkuGaJSR6 pic.twitter.com/s3irCQz0Xq

I’m orthodox and live in Brooklyn – Midwood and I’m proud to be #YidenforBiden
Unfortunately I’m the only one on my block that’s not voting for trump. Every time I say I am voting for Biden I get an earful of misinformation

This is a moment of great uncertainty. Here’s what you can do about it.
We hope you appreciated this article. Before you go, we’d like to ask you to please support the Forward’s independent Jewish news this Passover. All donations are being matched by the Forward Board - up to $100,000.
This is a moment of great uncertainty for the news media, for the Jewish people, and for our sacred democracy. It is a time of confusion and declining trust in public institutions. An era in which we need humans to report facts, conduct investigations that hold power to account, tell stories that matter and share honest discourse on all that divides us.
With no paywall or subscriptions, the Forward is entirely supported by readers like you. Every dollar you give this Passover is invested in the future of the Forward — and telling the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
The Forward doesn’t rely on funding from institutions like governments or your local Jewish federation. There are thousands of readers like you who give us $18 or $36 or $100 each month or year.
