WATCH: Will Jewish Seniors Haunt Their Trump-Voting Grandkids?
After Donald Trump’s brush with the alt-right, American Jews already have plenty of reason to vote against him. But if Jewish millennials needed an extra push, grandma and grandpa are more than happy to provide it.
In a new ad called “We’ve Seen This Before” from the advocacy group Bend the Arc Jewish Action, seniors urge the young to help defeat the Republican presidential nominee.
“I’m afraid that he’s far more than a putz,” one alter kocker confides to the camera.
“He’s petulant, yeah, he reminds me of my kid,” complains an older woman. The promo’s stars even threaten to haunt their grandkids from beyond the grave, lest they back Trump.
“I will come back from the dead and unlike all your Facebook updates,” warns one of them. “My ghost will make sure that the kale in your fridge rots twice as fast,” says another, striking fear into the hearts of Williamsburg foodies.
The ad is intended to spread the news about Bend the Arc’s anti-Trump stance, and recruit Jewish millennials to pitch in with get-out-the-vote efforts in swing states. Perhaps the terror of post-mortem torment is just what’s needed to frighten the young out of apathy this election season.
