CHILDREN, COME BLOW YOUR HORN

At the eighth annual Shofar Festival and Parade, created for children ages 3 to 8 and their families, youngsters decorate their own shofars, the rams’ horns blown on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur as a call of repentance to its listeners, and learn how to blow them. After listening to stories about Rosh Hashana, visitors of all ages are invited to show off and play their newly decorated shofars in a parade through The Jewish Museum’s art galleries, concluding with the trumpeting of all the shofars.

The Jewish Museum, 1109 Fifth Ave.; Sept. 21, festival 1 p.m., parade 3:30 p.m.; $10, $7.50 students and seniors, free children under 12, shofar decorating $3. (212-423-3200 or www.thejewishmuseum.org)
