Iran Hawk: Mitt Romney
Former Massachusetts governor and GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney laid out a five-point plan for preventing Iran from going nuclear at the Herzliya Conference
in Israel today.
“The military option remains on the table,” Romney said, while also calling for tighter economic sanctions, diplomatic isolation of Iranian leaders, and an alliance of NATO and other allies that would support progressive Muslim communities and leaders.
About Iraq, Romney said, “Some congressional leaders in the United States today are arguing that the President is not authorized to allow our forces to pursue Iranian elements inside Iraq – which are attacking our own troops. That would be folly.”
UPDATE: Team Romney just sent out a link to the video of his speech.
