Thousands March in Israel for Human Rights Day

Thousands of Israelis marched in Tel Aviv on Friday to mark International Human Rights Day.

Around 500 people participated in a similar event in Haifa.

In Tel Aviv, the march proceeded from Habima Square to Rabin Square.

The Tel Aviv march was organized by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel. 130 groups particicated in the event, covering the entire political spectrum, including Peace Now, Meretz, Im Tirzu, West Bank settlers, Eritrean refugees and Negev Bedouin.

Social protest leader Daphne Leef also took part in the march.

Leftist marchers carried signs reading “The right will not silence me”, “Bibi, resign” and “We will protect the democratic space”. Settler marchers carried signs reading “Jews in the settlements also have rights”.
