Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin Welcome Baby Boy
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, yesterday welcomed their first child, a boy named Jordan Zane, The New York Post is reporting.
The 47-year-old Democrat, who is Jewish, had represented parts of Queens and Brooklyn until June, when he resigned after he was discovered to have posted explicit photos of himself on Twitter.
Abedin, 36, is a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Clinton, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair, and Sen. Kristen Gillibrand were among the guests last weekend Abedin’s baby shower, held last weekend in Washington, according to The Post.
In a September special election that was seen by some observers as a referendum on President Obama, and his policies toward Israel, Republican Bob Turner won Weiner’s former congressional seat in the heavily Democratic, heavily Jewish district. During the campaign, former New York Mayor Ed Koch endorsed Turner to send a message that White House policies weren’t sufficiently supportive of Israel.
