Charles Hynes Meets With Jewish Leaders
Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes held a closed-door meeting with members of the Jewish community.
Monday’s meeting, reported by the New York media, came a day after Hynes attended a public meeting in the haredi Orthodox community of Crown Heights on preventing child abuse. The meeting was sparsely attended, according to reports.
The DA’s office confirmed to WNYC radio that the meeting took place, but did not say who was in attendance or what was discussed.
Hynes has come under fire for his handling of prosecuting sex offenders in the haredi Orthodox community.
