Israel Shifts Iron Dome Missile Defense to North After Syria Strike

The move was reported Monday evening by Sky News Arabia, which cited unnamed Israeli sources.

An Iranian general and at least five Hezbollah members were killed in Sunday’s attack, including Jihad Mughniyah, the son of the late Hezbollah military leader Imad Mughniyah.

The Israel Defense Forces has neither confirmed nor denied the strikes.

Hezbollah and Iran have both vowed to retaliate against Israel for the attack.

Quneitra, which also is located near the border with Lebanon, has been the site of heavy fighting between government forces and rebels during Syria’s civil war.

“The IDF is prepared, tracking all developments, and ready to act as needed,” Israel Defense Forces’ Chief of Staff Benny Gantz said Monday, according to the Times of Israel .“This statement is not simply a speech — it’s a matter of real operational preparedness.”
