Israeli Man Killed at West Bank Gas Station

An Israeli man, 18, was killed in a stabbing attack at a gas station on a main West Bank thoroughfare.

Two others were hurt in the Monday afternoon attack on Route 443 near the Israeli city of Modiin. An Israeli woman in her 20s was lightly injured in the stabbing, and another was shot by bullets meant for the assailant.

Israeli security forces fired at the Palestinian assailant and killed him, the Israel Defense Forces spokesman said.

Magen David Adom worked to save the Israeli man after the attack, but had to declare him dead at the scene. He is the 22nd Israeli to be killed since October 1.

It was the third attack of the day. Earlier on Monday, two Palestinian female teens used scissors to stab an elderly Palestinian man, and a 27-year-old guard was injured assisting him. One of the assailants was killed and the other seriously wounded by security forces.

Meanwhile, also on Monday afternoon, a Palestinian assailant attempted to stab an Israeli soldier near Nablus in the West Bank. The alleged assailant was shot and killed following the attempt.
