Michael Cohen, President Trump’s pit-bull attorney, took a shot Wednesday morning at Joe Scarborough, telling the cable news anchor to shut his “big mouth” after Scarborough speculated about the leaking of an old Trump tax return. Scarborough, who hosts MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” responded in a major way, advising the pugilistic Cohen to “save your dumb thug routine who someone who gives a damn.”

Cohen has been one of the president’s most visible surrogates from the campaign on. The Long Island resident and Trump Organization lawyer first made headlines over last summer, when he denied in a memorable television interview that his candidate was then trailing badly in the polls. More recently, coverage has focused on accusations that Cohen was involved in a backchannel effort to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine. An old Trump tax return showing his filings from 2005 was leaked on Tuesday night.
