Fake ‘Forward’ articles posted online and circulated on X
Source and motivation of disinformation unclear

These are not real Forward articles. Photo by the Forward/X screenshot
The Forward did not publish articles on international reaction to Israel at a French defense conference or about U.S. Democrats and leftist Israelis trying to divide Americans and Israel. The posts, which have circulated on social media via bot accounts, are fakes that appear to be part of a broader disinformation campaign linked to Russia.
The Forward did not produce these articles. The original article regarding the French defense conference was removed but may still be circulating on social media. The second article, dated June 25, may still be live.

Did you know that only 2% of Forward readers donate to support our nonprofit newsroom? That 2% make it possible for millions to read the Forward without a paywall or subscription — removing any barriers to the full and fair Jewish story.
But while the Forward is free to read, it isn’t free to produce. Big stories — like deep dives into the antisemitism data, political scoops or reporting trips to college campuses — take months of research and fact-checking. All while we keep you informed of what you need to know each day.
