On January 11th, in partnership with the Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, the Jewish Film Festival will return for its 26th edition. The festival offers a varied look at the world of Jewish film, both in terms of genre and time period. In addition to the newer films that make up the majority of the festival, there will also be showings of old classics such as Georg Wilhelm Pabst’s adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s “The Three Penny Opera” and, as a tribute to the recently deceased Gene Wilder, a screening of Mel Brooks’ “The Producers.”
The Festival, which continues until January 24th, splits its programming time evenly between documentary and non-documentary film and also includes an international shorts program. Below, preview six films which we are especially excited to see:

Now more than ever, American Jews need independent news they can trust, with reporting driven by truth, not ideology. We serve you, not any ideological agenda.
At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and polarized discourse.
This is a great time to support independent Jewish journalism you rely on. Make a gift today!
