February 3: Manhattan: New York Premiere Of ‘Out Of The Depths’ By Chaim Potok

The Forward is a proud sponsor of the staged reading and New York premiere of Chaim Potok’s play, “Out of the Depths.”

Join Potok’s daughter Rena in celebrating the publication of “The Collected Plays of Chaim Potok,” the first-ever collection of the author’s work. There will be a book sale and signing following the program, at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan on Sunday, February 3.

“Out of the Depths” is based on the the life of S. Ansky, author of “The Dybbuk.” It is set in 1920 in a Warsaw rehearsal room, where the Vilna Troupe are preparing the premiere of “The Dybbuk.”
