March 19: San Francisco: National Convening On Jewish Poverty

National Convening on Jewish Poverty will be March 19, 2019 in San Francisco.

Poverty is a significant but rarely discussed issue within the Jewish community. The National Convening on Jewish Poverty aims to open those channels and, through education, work to find a solution.

Forward writer-at-large Jane Eisner will lead a seminar at the conference, based in San Francisco on March 19, focused on Jewish poverty in the media. She’ll speak specifically on why poor Jews are often not included in portrayals of the American Jewish community, as well as how the media can better address the concern of Jewish poverty.

Various experts will lead sessions focusing on services for Holocaust survivors, creating a case management system low-income Jews and improving research and data, and more.
