Nintendo Opens Its Second Official Store In Tel Aviv

We hope Mario likes shawarma. On June 24, Nintendo opened its second ever brick-and-mortar store in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The video game company, known for its stable of colorful characters and inventive hardware, launched its first official retail location in 2005 at Rockefeller Center. With the Tel Aviv location, its second ever, we sense a trend: Might Jews really love Nintendo? Sure we do, we have good taste.
The new storefront at the Dizengoff Center edges out the Japanese company’s first ever Tokyo location, scheduled for its own ribbon-cutting this fall. Israel is a new market for Nintendo. It was only in March of this year that Sabra gamers could buy consoles and games domestically, according to the Jerusalem Post.
If you’re on the beach in Tel Aviv and encounter a wild Pikachu, don’t be alarmed.
