The Israeli military completed the demolition of a Gaza terror tunnel discovered during the Israel Defense Forces’ operation last summer in Gaza.
The tunnel stretched from Gaza City to the southern Israeli community of Nahal Oz. Israel has been in control of the tunnel since Operation Protective Edge.
The tunnel was destroyed recently on Israeli territory near the border with Gaza, the IDF said on Monday. The IDF discovered weapons and ammunition in the tunnel, according to the IDF.
The part of the tunnel that led into Gaza had been destroyed during the summer conflict, and the IDF had full control of the remaining parts of the tunnel since then, Ynet reported citing the IDF.
Hamas reportedly is rebuilding terror tunnels leading from Gaza to Israel.
