Steve Bannon Savages ‘Globalist Media’ At Conservative Conference
White House chief strategist Steve Bannon continued his assault on the press during a Thursday appearance at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, decrying the fourth estate in dog whistle-like language.
“It’s not only not going to get better, it gets worse every day,” Bannon said, talking about the new administration’s relationship with the media. “They’re corporatist, globalist media that are adamantly opposed to an economic nationalist agenda like Donald Trump has.”
Bannon’s rhetoric was reminiscent of appeals that President Trump made on the campaign trail, when he ran ads that alleged rival Hillary Clinton was “part of a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class.” That commercial pictured investor George Soros, Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen and Goldman Sachs honcho Lloyd Blankfein, all of them Jewish. The term “globalist” is often cited as shorthand for “Jews.”
Bannon, the former head of Breitbart News, has in the past referred to the press as the “opposition party” and told them to “shut up and listen.” He bragged that Breitbart under his leadership was a “platform for the alt-right,” the name for modern-day white supremacists and white nationalists.
