53% Give Thumbs Down To Ivanka and Jared In White House

A majority of Americans say that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s prominent roles in the White House are inappropriate, a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday revealed.
In separate questions, voters nationwide were asked whether it was appropriate that the pair were “playing a significant role in the White House.” In both cases, 53% of voters said no, with 36% saying yes for Trump and 32% saying yes for Kushner. The only subgroups to give either of them majority support for their new jobs were whites without a college degree and Republicans.
While there were small splits in how respondents approved of the couple’s employment, the discrepancy was much larger when it came to Americans’ overall approval of them. Thirty-six percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of Trump, with 31% unfavorable and 27% who said they “hadn’t heard enough” to form an opinion. In contrast, only 15% had a favorable opinion of Kushner, with 32% unfavorable and a full 50% who hadn’t heard enough.
The poll found President Trump’s approval rating among all Americans at 40%, with a disapproval rating of 56%.
The poll was conducted on 1,062 voters between April 12 and 18, with a 3% margin of error.
