Ivanka Trump Cancels Book Tour, Citing White House Ethics Concerns

Ivanka Trump won’t lift a finger to promote her soon-to-be-released book “Women Who Work,” announcing that she would cancel a tour and promotional events due to ethics concerns.
“Out of an abundance of caution and to avoid the appearance of using my official role to promote the book, I will not publicize the book through a promotional tour or media appearances,” she wrote in a Thursday Facebook post.
She now works in the White House as a special assistant to her father, President Trump. Ethics rules prohibit federal workers from using their offices to advance their financial interests.
Ivanka Trump has also decided to donate a portion of her advance and all future proceeds from the book, setting up the Ivanka M. Trump Charitable Fund to distribute the income. Initial grants will be going to the National Urban League and the Boys and Girls Club of America.
“Women Who Work” is a self-help and advice book for professional women, doling out tips on how to manage career, family and life. Trump, who has led a women’s lifestyle brand under her own name, has publicly emphasized feminist issues like pay equity and paid family leave.
