Ivanka Trump Charms Angry Washington Neighbors — With Cookies

It’s hard to say no to a really good batch of cookies.
After butting heads with her new neighbors in the D.C. neighborhood Kalorama, Ivanka Trump reportedly tried to mend fences by going door-to-door with baked goods.
The laundry list of complaints Trump was trying to soften included: not abiding by the trash schedule, allowing secret service agents to loudly loiter outside the residence, and putting up excess “no parking” signs.
The Financial Times reported that the treats worked like a charm.
“She knocked on each of her neighbours’ doors with stealth weapons in tow: her children and baked goods,” the Times noted. “The blatant PR offensive was highly effective. ‘Lovely, just lovely,’ says Rhona Friedman, a lawyer and neighbour who had been wary. ‘People who know her say the same thing: that she’s very gracious.’”
Considering Friedman previously told The Washington Post that she “screamed” after a “no parking” sign was tacked in front of her home, it looks like Trump may have successfully won over her biggest (local) adversary.
