Senators Raise New Questions About Jared Kushner Security Clearance After Russia Revelations

Two U.S. senators said on Sunday talk shows that new revelations about Jared Kushner’s attendance at a meeting with Russian organized by Donald Trump Jr. could warrant a review of his security clearance, USA Today reported.
“I think, if I had a meeting that involved Russian government efforts to try to help candidate Trump and hurt [Hillary] Clinton, that I would remember that,” Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat, said on CNN.
Senator Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine, also raised concerns about Kushner’s initial failure to report that and other meetings in federal disclosure forms. “I don’t know how many meetings he had in total,” Collins said, also on CNN. “So those are issues that we do need to review. And it’s one reason why the intelligences committees’ counterintelligence investigation needs to continue.”
Kushner’s security clearance has drawn increasing attention from Democrats in recent days, amid growing concerns about his role in the administration.
