Cohn to Brits: Take Trump…Please!

Former Trump economic advisor Gary Cohn tried to fob off the president on the United Kingdom at a Goldman Sachs event at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland last week, according to a report in Axios.
Cohn, once one of the top executives at the massive investment firm, spoke at the event alongside Philip Hammond, the U.K.’s chancellor of the exchequer.
“We do have this guy in America who’s supposed to be the world’s best negotiator,” Cohn joked to Hammond, according to Axios. “Maybe if we sent him over to you it could help you, and it could be helpful for us too.”
Cohn left the White House in April of 2018, after Trump introduced a series of tariffs that Cohn opposed. According to an anecdote in a book published months later by Bob Woodward, Cohn once stole a letter from the president’s desk to keep him from signing it. He clashed regularly with Trump, and reportedly considered him to be “dumb.”
