Swastika Graffiti Found At Virginia Swimming Pool

Police in northern Virginia are investigating swastika graffiti at a local pool, the third case of racist or anti-Semitic activity in the area in the past few weeks, local news station WDVM reported Sunday.
Swastikas were found spray-painted on a pool deck at the Piedmont Home Owners Association Pool House in Gainesville on the morning of June 20. The pool managers say that the vandalism must have taken place between 9:00 p.m. the night before and 10:00 a.m. that morning. Police did not receive report of any suspicious persons near the pool area during these hours, and they do not find the crime to be targeting any specific individual in the neighborhood.
Ku Klux Klan recruitment flyers were distributed elsewhere in Prince William County earlier that month. Also this year, swastikas were etched into the side of a van, and more swastikas were drawn on a basketball court.
Officers do not think the incidents are connected but are continuing to investigate.
