Teens Mauled by Bear on Alaska Trip
A New York teen and three other boys were seriously injured when they were attacked by a bear during an Alaska outdoors trip.
Joshua Berg, 17, of New City and Samuel Gottsegen, also 17, of Denver, suffered the worst bear bites during the Saturday night attack, troopers said, according to The New York Daily News
Both are in serious condition, the paper said.
Joshua’s grandmother Gloria Berg of Tappan in Rockland County, N.Y. called him an “adventurous kid.”
The teens were in the 24th day of a month-long National Outdoor Leadership School back-country course and was in the Talkeetna Mountains 120 miles north of Anchorage.
