Jewish, Christian Groups Hang Ads in N.Y. Subway Urging Tolerance
A Jewish group and a Christian group are hanging ads in the New York subway system urging tolerance.
The ads being placed by Rabbis for Human Rights – North America and Sojourners, led by the Christian author and social-justice advocate Jim Wallis, will go up on Monday.
The ads are being hung to counter a controversial pro-Israel advertisement which reads “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.”
A federal judge on Oct. 5 ordered the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to hang the same ad, sponsored by Pamela Geller – founder, editor and publisher of AtlasShrugs.com and executive director of the American Freedom Defense Initiative.
The ad by Rabbis for Human Rights reads: “In the choice between love and hate, choose love. Help stop bigotry against our Muslim neighbors.” The Sojourners ad says, “Love your Muslim neighbors.”
The ads reportedly will be hung near the anti-jihad ads in the same Manhattan subway stations, according to the New York Times.

Now more than ever, American Jews need independent news they can trust, with reporting driven by truth, not ideology. We serve you, not any ideological agenda.
At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and polarized discourse.
