Trump Pledged Support to Friends of the IDF — Someone Else Paid

WASHINGTON — Someone else paid Donald Trump’s pledged contribution to the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, according to the Washington Post.

The Post reported Thursday that Trump promised the group a donation in 2007. FIDF spokesman Ryan Greiss told the newspaper that someone else made good on the pledge.

Greiss would not identify the donor or the amount.

In its efforts to track the charitable donations of the Republican nominee and self-described billionaire, the Post also found that the Donald Trump Foundation, a nonprofit set up in Trump’s name, gave $350 to the FIDF in 2011. Trump had not given to his eponymous foundation since 2008, however.

Trump did not respond to the Post seeking comment.

The Friends of the IDF provides comforts to serving soldiers and veterans and their families.
