אָט זענען די ווערטער וואָס מע דאַרף כּדי צו פֿײַערן דעם אַמעריקאַנער אומאָפּהענגיקייט־טאָג אויף ייִדיש.

שוין יאָרן לאַנג שיקט די „ייִדיש־ליגע“ רעגלמעסיק אַרויס בליצבריוו מיט ייִדישע ווערטער און אויסדרוקן וועגן אַ געוויסער טעמע. לכתּחילה האָט די סעריע געהייסן ”ווי אַזוי זאָגט מען?“, הײַנט הייסט זי „ווערטער פֿון דער וואָך“. די רשימות טיילט מען אויך אויף פֿייסבוק.

די וואָך פֿאַלט אויס אין אַמעריקע דער פֿערטער יולי, דער נאַציאָנאַלער יום־טובֿ אין וועלכן מע מערקט אָפּ דעם טאָג ווען מע האָט אונטערגעשריבן די אומאָפּהענגיקייט־דעקלעראַציע. מע שיסט אַרויס פֿײַערווערק, מע זינגט פּאַטריאָטישע לידער אַזוי ווי דער נאַציאָנאַלער הימען און מע ווייעט מיט דער פֿאָן מיט אירע שטערן און שטרײַפֿן. בקיצור, ס׳איז אַ געלעגנהייט אַרויסצוּווײַזן, אַז מע פֿילט זיך פּאַטריאָטיש.
