100 Years Ago in The Forward

Recently a group of hooligans perpetrated a pogrom on a group of Jews standing in the train station in the Catskills. Suddenly, as a few dozen Jews waited for a train on the platform in Fallsburg, N.Y., a yell was heard: “Death to the enemies! Death to the Jews!” With that, a gang of eight hooligans appeared in the station and began to randomly attack people, injuring some of them severely. The gang also stopped a wagonload of arriving passengers, pulled down and attacked the driver and insulted the ladies in the wagon. Three of the attackers were arrested. Two of them are known anti-Semites from Fallsburg, and the third is a former New York City policeman. The perpetrators were set free after paying a $2 fine.

Considered to be one of the up-and-coming machers in Nazi Germany and the de facto balebuste, of the country’s film industry, Leni Riefenstahl has been seen more and more in the company of Adolf Hitler. Rumors are swirling around Berlin that the führer plans to marry this young woman, who also happens to be half-Jewish — a fact that is widely known in Germany. Riefenstahl was best known as an actress, but she has also recently exhibited her work as a director. As a result, Hitler has given her full control over the entire German film industry. Hitler has driven out of Germany the best actors and directors, many of whom were Jews. Therefore, it’s quite ironic that the woman in charge of the Nazi film industry is partly Jewish. But whether or not one is Jewish, whoever works with the Nazis is worthless.

50 Years Ago in The Forward

Because of the upcoming United Nations vote on the refugee status of Palestinian Arabs, a new organization has been created. Called the Palestinian Arab Delegation, the New York-based group claims to speak for Palestinian refugees and has begun to publish a newspaper that professes to deal with the issues surrounding the refugee problem. The reality is that the newspaper, whose symbol is a crescent with a cross, is nothing more than an anti-Zionist propaganda sheet making claims, one being that the “aggressor Zionists” plan to destroy Jerusalem’s Mosque of Omar and replace it with the Third Temple. The newspaper also claims that the Zionists plan to destroy Christian holy sites. In the end, the new paper doesn’t seem to offer much help to refugees; rather, it seeks only to defame the Jewish state.
