Right-Wing Publisher Will Print Milo Yiannopoulos Book
A month after Milo Yiannopoulos lost a book deal thanks to comments defending pedophilia, the ex-Breitbart editor now has a publisher for his memoir titled “Dangerous.”
“They’d be mad not to, wouldn’t they?” Yiannopoulos wrote to BuzzFeed News, after the news that Regnery Publishing would release his book. The firm has a reputation for printing content from far-right authors like Laura Ingraham and Dinesh D’Souza.
Yiannopoulos was initially signed to Simon & Schuster for $250,000, but the mainstream publishing house canceled the deal after old footage in which he appeared to endorse sex between older and younger males surfaced. Yiannopoulos also lost a speaking slot at the Conservative Political Action Committee and was forced to resign from Breitbart.
Even before the pedophilia remarks emerged, the deal with Simon & Schuster was controversial. Yiannopoulos has a record of denigrating Muslims, Jews, and women; many commenters accused the publisher of rewarding him in spite of his hate speech. Roxane Gay, the prominent black feminist, canceled her own book deal with Simon & Schuster in protest.
