‘Greedy Jewish Landlords’ Candidate Trolls Liberal Jews on Twitter
In a series of tweets directed at Jewish groups yesterday, fringe New York City Council candidate Thomas Lopez-Pierre asked a left-wing Jewish group if it would “help protect Black and Hispanic tenants in NYC from ‘Greedy Jewish Landlords.’”
Lopez-Pierre, a candidate in a City Council district in upper Manhattan, has been widely criticized as anti-Semitic.
His tweet, directed at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, a liberal activist group tied to the Reform Movement, referred to a video he posted Monday, in which he spoke further about “greedy Jewish landlords.”
Hey @TheRAC please help protect Black and Hispanic tenants in NYC from “Greedy Jewish Landlords” in NYC. @JewishNewsUSA @jdforward @ADL_NY
