Feinstein Wants Comey To Testify Again — And Is Threatening To Subpoena Him

Sen. Dianne Feinstein doesn’t think former FBI Director James Comey’s Senate testimony last week was conclusive — so she wants him to return to the Senate to answer more questions about his firing and about policies at the agency he once led.

“The committee needs to have an opportunity to question the attorney general about the department’s policies and priorities,” the California Democrat wrote in a letter to Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley. “There also remain unanswered questions about the attorney general’s prior testimony before the committee and his role in firing Director Comey.”

Feinstein is the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee. Comey appeared last week before the Intelligence Committee, turning down an invitation from the Judiciary Committee. Feinstein indicated her support for a subpoena for Comey if he will not testify willingly.

Senators were captivated by Comey’s testimony, in which he indicated that political pressure had been put on him by both the Obama and Trump administration.
