Jimmy Kimmel Holds His Infant Son In Emotional Healthcare Plea
In an emotional return to his late night show, Jimmy Kimmel brought his infant son onstage to speak about children’s healthcare. Kimmel, host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” was on leave last week while his 7-month-old son underwent his second heart surgery.
Kimmel railed against Congress for failing to secure funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which helps provide low-cost health care to millions of children in the U.S.
“I don’t know what could be more disgusting than putting a tax cut that goes to rich people ahead of the lives of children,” Kimmel said while holding his bubbly son.
This was Kimmel’s second monologue focused on children’s healthcare since his son’s first surgery for Billy’s congenital heart disease.
