Felder Slams ‘Veggie Burger’ Story About Cuomo Pressure To Join Democrats

Rogue New York State Senator Simcha Felder, who is the one man standing between the Democrats and total control of the state government, denied a report that Governor Cuomo had asked him to rejoin the Democratic caucus, City & State reported.

He branded as a “veggie burger” a story that quoted Felder saying that Cuomo had asked him to “consider being part of the family.”

“We have not had a conversation recently,” Felder told City & State. He said that the conversation referred to in the Post story took place months ago. “You know, I don’t know if you ever buy a veggie burger that’s made of all the leftovers?” Felder said to City & State. “That’s what that article was.”

Even if a personal appeal to Felder from the governor hasn’t taken place recently, a hard sell appears to be in the works. The New York Daily News reported Monday that Cuomo plans to make moves next week that would put pressure on Felder to rejoin the Democrats.

Felder told the Daily News he was unconcerned. “What else is new? I’ve been blamed for everything since I was born,” he said.
