This is turning into an exciting year for guest-chef events and one-off dinners. Next on our radar: a four-course feast at Philly’s terrific Abe Fisher, which is part of the Cook N Solo group owned by star chef Michael Solomonov and his business partner Steve Cook.
Chef Yehuda Sichel will team with Lior Lev Sercarz of celebrated NYC spice shop La Bôite to combine “Eastern European Jewish influences of Chef Yehuda’s cooking with the powerful flavors found in La Boîte spices.”
On the menu: Luscious-sounding chopped liver with pastrami onion jam, green tomato pickles with marinated radish, beef cheek with Hungarian nokedli, peach strudel with Manischewitz-poached plums for dessert and much more. It’s set for June 15; tickets are $60 a pop.

At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and polarized discourse.
Readers like you make it all possible. We’ve started our Passover Fundraising Drive, and we need 1,800 readers like you to step up to support the Forward by April 21. Members of the Forward board are even matching the first 1,000 gifts, up to $70,000.
This is a great time to support independent Jewish journalism, because every dollar goes twice as far.
