But the Shmooze’s biggest fear is that, with the playoffs under way this week, Green — who sits out games on Yom Kippur regularly — will succumb to the most unkosher of supplements: Turns out that the best hitter on the Mets, centerfielder Carlos Beltran, attributes his past postseason success to a steady diet of ham-and-cheese sandwiches.
