Prime Ribs: International Women’s Day at 100
Today is the 100th annual International Women’s Day, commemorating the achievements of women, past and present. This year’s theme: “Equal access to education, training and science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women.”

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, human rights activist Rebecca Lolosoli and Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg are among the dozens of impressive women who will take part in the second annual Women in the World Summit, organized by the Daily Beast. The three-day event, which begins on Thursday, includes a panel discussion with female reformers from the Arab world and a conversation between former secretaries of state Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice.

Check out these pieces about it in New York magazine, Slate and The New York Obserer. Sisterhood contributor Elissa Strauss, the author of that now-famous post, was among the guests on our most recent Reporters’ Roundtable podcast, which you can find here.
