WATCH: Trump Says Berlin Attack Proves He’s ‘100% Correct’ on Muslim Registry

President-elect Donald Trump told reporters on Wednesday that a terrorist attack in Berlin earlier that week proved him right on his instincts to constrain Muslim immigration.
“You know my plans,” he told the press when asked about a possible registry or ban, outside his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, “All along, I’ve been proven to be right. One hundred percent correct. What’s happening is disgraceful.”

Following terror attacks in Paris last fall, Trump vowed to prohibit Muslims from entering the country as immigrants and visitors. He later softened that line to imposing “extreme vetting” on them and perhaps forcing them to register with federal authorities.
It was rumored that he might give a prominent administration role to Kris Kobach, the Kansas secretary of state who has strongly advocated such policies.
Trump has a track record of invoking terror attacks as proof that his ideas on national security are correct. He drew criticism for expressing those sentiments after the shooting at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, carried out by a gunman who declared his allegiance to the Islamic State.
