Israel Jets Hit Hamas Target After Rocket Attack From Gaza
A rocket fired from Gaza landed in southern Israel and IDF fighter jets reportedly responded with an attack on Hamas targets inside the Palestinian-controlled coastal strip.
The rocket fired at Israel landed in an open area and there were no injuries, officials said.
A military spokesman told Haaretz a Hamas target — Israel considers any rocket attack from Gaza to be the militant group’s responsibility — that jets early on Monday executed a retaliatory strike.
“The IDF sees the terrorist organization Hamas as solely responsible for events in Gaza and we will continue to act firmly to maintain quiet in southern towns,” the spokesman said.
