Anne Frank, Dr. King and the ADL’s Moving Video
What if Martin Luther King, Jr., Anne Frank, Matthew Shepard and Yitzhak Rabin were still alive today?
A new video from the Anti-Defamation League depicts the contributions they could have made to society and asks viewers to envision a world without hate. Produced for the ADL’s 100th anniversary and set to John Lennon’s “Imagine,” the video has gone viral with over 350,000 views on YouTube.
Here are some viewers’ reactions on Twitter:
This video had me weeping in 20 seconds. Astonishing. Watch it. youtu.be/3KyvlMJefR4

Warning, you will choke up. Thanks #ADL for your work. #Imagine a World Without Hate. via @adl_national ow.ly/jhVwg @amnesty

The ADL’s critics, however, weren’t so moved:
Don’t be fooled by @adl_national’s efforts to whitewash its hateful activities facebook.com/occupyjudaism/…

If you find @yokoono’s licensing of “Imagine” to the ADL as inexplicable as I do, tweet her at #yokoQandA and let her know.

While U.S. diplomats and officials tweeted support for the message:
An inspiring video by #ADL to mark its centennial. Congratulations and mazal tov @adl_national! adl.org/imagine

Part of PublicDiplomacy is about reaching people. @adl_national video shows that theme in ways only video can adl.org/imagine

The Forward is free to read, but it isn’t free to produce

I hope you appreciated this article. Before you go, I’d like to ask you to please support the Forward.
Now more than ever, American Jews need independent news they can trust, with reporting driven by truth, not ideology. We serve you, not any ideological agenda.
At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and polarized discourse.
This is a great time to support independent Jewish journalism you rely on. Make a gift today!
