זינט דער פֿאָרווערטס האָט אין אַפּריל 2020 לאַנצירט די יוטוב־סעריע, „דאָס ייִדישע וואָרט פֿון טאָג‟, געפֿירט פֿון דער פֿאָרווערטס־רעדאַקטאָרשע שׂרה־רחל שעכטער, האָבן אַ סך צוקוקער זיך נאָכגעפֿרעגט ווי אַזוי קען מען זיך פֿאַרשרײַבן אויף דער סעריע.

די וואָך איז לאַצנירט געוואָרן אַ גרופּע אויף פֿייסבוק, וואָס הייסט טאַקע Yiddish Word of the Day. פֿון איצט אָן און ווײַטער וועט מען דאָרט יעדן טאָג אַחוץ שבת אַרויפֿשטעלן אַ נײַעם אָדער פֿריִערדיקן קאַפּיטל פֿון דער סעריע.

כּדי צו זען דעם טעגלעכן קאַפּיטל, דאַרף מען זיך פּשוט אָנשליסן אין דער פֿייסבוק־גרופּע, Yiddish Word of the Day, דורכן גיבן אַ קוועטש אויפֿן וואָרט Join. עס קאָסט נישט קיין געלט צו ווערן אַ מיטגליד פֿון אַ פֿייסבוק־גרופּע.

אַלע מיטגלידער ווערן פֿאַרבעטן נישט בלויז צו קוקן די ווידעאָס, נאָר אויך איבערצולאָזן קאָמענטאַרן וועגן די ווערטער און אויסדרוקן וואָס ווערן געניצט — אַ זאַך וואָס קען אַרויסרופֿן אַן אינטערעסאַנטן שמועס צווישן די מיטגלידער.

Why I became the Forward’s editor-in-chief

You are surely a friend of the Forward if you’re reading this. And so it’s with excitement and awe — of all that the Forward is, was, and will be — that I introduce myself to you as the Forward’s newest editor-in-chief.

And what a time to step into the leadership of this storied Jewish institution! For 129 years, the Forward has shaped and told the American Jewish story. I’m stepping in at an intense time for Jews the world over. We urgently need the Forward’s courageous, unflinching journalism — not only as a source of reliable information, but to provide inspiration, healing and hope.
