A French Christian tourist was assaulted by Palestinian worshipers after waving an Israeli flag on the Temple Mount.
Police detained four Palestinians from eastern Jerusalem in the attack on Tuesday, the French news agency AFP reported.
The tourist, reported to be in his mid-30s, sustained an injury to his head. He also was detained by police and could be charged with disrupting public order.
The Palestinian Maan news agency erroneously identified the tourist as an “Israeli extremist.”
