Yeshiva U. To Create New Professional School After $25 Million Gift

Yeshiva University is establishing a new graduate program, the Katz School of Graduate and Professional Studies, with a $25 million gift.
The donation from Mordecai and Monique Katz was announced by Yeshiva on Monday.
The Katz School will offer degrees in fields such as marketing, allied health, community education, data science and cyber security. Programs will include both face-to-face and online learning options.
Paul Russo will be the dean of the new school. Yeshiva is already home to numerous other graduate and professional schools, including Cardozo Law School, Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration and the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary.
“If we have a core principle about philanthropy, it is this: invest in people. And the best investment you can make in people is through education,” said Mordecai Katz, a former aerospace executive and a current vice chairman of the Yeshiva University board of trustees. Monique Katz, a retired radiologist and graduate of Y.U.-affiliated Albert Einstein College of Medicine, serves as vice chairman of the Stern College for Women board of overseers.
