Arab Woman Stabs Israeli Man Near Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate

JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Arab woman from eastern Jerusalem stabbed an Israeli man near the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The victim was lightly injured in the Saturday afternoon stabbing attack, according to reports. He was taken to the Hadassah Medical Center on Mount Scopus.

The woman, 29 and a mother of 5, who holds an Israeli identity card, initially tried to stab a Haredi Orthodox man, but failed.

She was tackled and arrested by a Border Police Guard after the stabbing.

She reportedly told police during the initial investigation that she intended to stab a Jew.

Police searched the woman’s home in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Sur Baher, confiscating some papers and a computer.
