Get Ready For The $16.50 Bagel, New York

If you’ve never heard of Eleven Madison Park, all you need to know is that it’s a Michelin starred, multiple award-winning super expensive restaurant.
And now its own Daniel Humm is getting in the bagel game, as Eaterrevealed.
Black Seed (a New York artisanal bagel bakery) continues its monthly bagel partnership series, and this time they’ve hooked chef Daniel Humm for their next venture. Daniel Humm’s June bagel creation is a celery seed bagel with black truffle cream cheese, smoked sturgeon, pickled celery root, pickled shallots, and thinly sliced celery.
But all that sturgeon ain’t cheap. We’re talking about $16.50 a bagel. I guess that’s just the price of art.
I mean, it has nothing on the $1,000 gold-flecked bagel of tabloid fame, but still.
Bon appetit!

This is a moment of great uncertainty for the news media, for the Jewish people, and for our sacred democracy. It is a time of confusion and declining trust in public institutions. An era in which we need humans to report facts, conduct investigations that hold power to account, tell stories that matter and share honest discourse on all that divides us.
With no paywall or subscriptions, the Forward is entirely supported by readers like you. Every dollar you give is invested in the future of the Forward — and telling the American Jewish story fully and fairly.
The Forward doesn’t rely on funding from institutions like governments or your local Jewish federation. There are thousands of readers like you who give us $18 or $36 or $100 each month or year.
