How Forward Staffers Tie Their Shoes

It’s a dog-eat-dog world. Jobs are disappearing left and right, and everyone has to scrap for those few that remain. Every advantage counts, no matter how microscopic.

This new, gladiatorial job market is forcing us to reevaluate every last skill we’ve ever learned. Growing up, we’re all taught some way of brushing our teeth, tying our tie, knotting our laces, washing our hands, and it all seems good enough. But what about when good enough is no longer good enough? Is it really the ideal way?

Well now, with all that newfound free time on your hands, you can turn to the Ian’s Laces Web site to find out for certain. At least where shoelaces are concerned. This site can help solve all of your lacing questions, even if you didn’t know you had them, and find the pefect lacing pattern and knot for every situation.

This is the current favorite among Forward staffers. And we favor blue and yellow, or blue and white, laces.

A message from our Publisher & CEO Rachel Fishman Feddersen

I hope you appreciated this article. Before you go, I’d like to ask you to please support the Forward’s award-winning, nonprofit journalism during this critical time.

We’ve set a goal to raise $260,000 by December 31. That’s an ambitious goal, but one that will give us the resources we need to invest in the high quality news, opinion, analysis and cultural coverage that isn’t available anywhere else.

If you feel inspired to make an impact, now is the time to give something back. Join us as a member at your most generous level.

With your support, we’ll be ready for whatever 2025 brings.
