Streisand Sale! Buy Babs’s Bits for Charity!

See, I don’t really care what famous people are reading, wearing or decorating with or, were doing all many of things with, but are now selling for charity.

But since I know that lots of people want to know what Barbra Streisand does with all her books, knick-knacks, bric-a-brac and godawful hearth pottery (p92) — here’s the link to her sale catalog.

The sale of the “Barbra Streisand Collection” (of trinkets, ephemera, and objets d’film) is taking place on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday October 18, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton Beverly Hills, California. For those who won’t be able to, or don’t care to get there, Yentl is well represented on pages 95 and 96, and if you are interested in Streisand-used and approved sofas or art deco books, then pages 64 and 65 are more your bag.

Take your time, leaf through the lushly appointed online catalog and dream of owning an “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” wig, as worn by B herself (p25). Do it — you’re worth it!

P.S. You know she was born with the “a,” right? Barbara. Genius to drop the vowel. Instant icon. I’m toying with Dn. Perhaps D’n.
