Police May Have Suspect in Double Murder of Pittsburgh Jewish School Aide, Sister

A slain Jewish day school teacher’s aide was reportedly found naked in the basement of her Pittsburgh home along with her sister who was also murdered.
Susan Wolfe, 44, who worked at Hillel Academy in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, was found naked with a single gunshot wound to the head, police sources told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Her sister, Sarah Wolfe, 36, was also killed with a single shot. Her body was found fully clothed, the sources said.
Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. suggested to reporters that a suspect has been identified, but refused to elaborate.
“It’s amazing with technology that people have been utilizing — especially surveillance cameras — the amount of information you can generate in a short time,” Mr. Zappala said.
“There’s a guy that I like from a description of the evidence, but it’s a little early for that,” he added.
The bodies of the two women were found Friday afternoon in the basement of their two-story home in East Liberty, Pa. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.
Police said a liquid was poured over one of the women’s bodies, possibly in an effort to conceal evidence, but they would not elaborate.
Hillel Academy officials told Pittsburgh’s Jewish Chronicle newspaper that Susan Wolfe had told of returning to the home to find it ransacked in December.
The sisters, who recently bought the home, told co-workers they took security precautions after the incident, and it was unclear if there might be a link to the slayings.
