Dubai-Amman Flight Diverted to Israel
(JTA) — A Royal Jordanian flight heading to Amman made an emergency landing in Israel.
The flight from Dubai was diverted Tuesday afternoon due to poor weather conditions. The pilots requested to land in Israel after notifying aviation authorities that the airplane was low on fuel, according to Israeli news reports.
Ben Gurion International Airport staff greeted the plane with boxes of an Israeli winter sweet treat called Krembos, which were distributed to the passengers while they waited for the plane to refuel and be cleared to fly to Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport.
Israel does not have diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates, from where the plane originated.
