Sheldon Adelson To Speak on Israel at Shmuley Boteach Event

Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and his wife Miriam are speaking at an invite-only New York City event tonight hosted by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.

Boteach, whose not-for-profit group World Values Network received $2.4 million from the Adelsons’ foundation in 2014, will interview the billionaire couple.

Billed as an installment in the World Values Network’s “Global Leaders Series,” the event is set for 6 p.m. Its location has not been disclosed to the press, and no media will be in attendance, according to a spokesperson for the group. Boteach and the Adelsons will discuss “Israel and the Jewish future.”

A major Republican donor in the 2012 presidential election, Adelson has yet to commit publicly to a candidate.

The Adelson family recently purchased the Las Vegas Review-Journal, adding to a media portfolio that includes the Israeli newspaper Israel HaYom. Adelson’s family is also the largest donor to Jewish newswire JNS.org, and has backed the pro-Israel site From the Grapevine.
