Torah Scroll Robbed from N.J. Jewish School
(JTA) — A Torah scroll valued at some $70,000 was stolen from a Jewish school in Lakewood, New Jersey.
The Torah scroll was in a safe, which was removed by two burglars in a theft caught by a surveillance camera. The men have not yet been identified.
The burglars reportedly entered the Cheder Torah Zev school through an unlocked door early Saturday morning.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for return of the Torah scroll, according to local reports.
